Yidi Song

Yidi Song

A native of China, Yidi Song was awarded First Place in the Young Artist Competitions of the China Flute Association, Flute Society of Washington, and Mid-South Flute Society. As the 2017 winner of the William C. Byrd International Competition, she made her debut as a soloist performing concerto with the Flint Symphony Orchestra. She was a fellow at the Sarasota Music Festival and Texas Music festival and awarded Eastman's Teaching Assistant Prize for Excellence in Teaching. She holds degrees from Eastman (DMA, MM) and the China Conservatory (BM). Her principal teachers include Bonita Boyd, Anne Harrow, Zhaorong Chen, Zhijie Ni, Xusheng Du, and Tongde Zhu.
