Emlyn Johnson

Emlyn Johnson is the flutist and co-director of American Wild Ensemble, which celebrates American people, places, and stories through the commission and performance of new music. Since 2015 Johnson has commissioned 40 new thematic works for the ensemble, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Chamber Music America, Mid-America Arts Alliance, and more. In addition to her work as a performer and ensemble leader, Johnson serves as Executive Director of the Pro Musica chamber music series in Joplin, Missouri, currently in its 43rd season, and previously taught in the SUNY system and at Missouri State University.
