Alberto Almarza

Alberto Almarza is the NFA's 2024 Convention Program Chair. He is professor of flute and head of the flute department at Carnegie Mellon University, and founder and director of The Consummate Flutist masterclasses. He is also a member of the editorial board of The Flutist Quarterly, and earlier served as principal flute of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Chile. He has recorded for New Albion, Elán, Albany, Centaur and Naxos records, and given special performances for PBS and TedTalk.
