Lois Svard

Lois Svard has received critical acclaim for her performances and recordings of contemporary American piano music and is also well-known for her work in applying current neuroscience research to the study and performance of music. She is the author of The Musical Brain: what students, teachers, and performers need to know, published by Oxford University Press, and is the author of the blog The Musician’s Brain, about music, the brain, and learning, read in over 120 countries. She is Professor Emerita of piano at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
